Do you long to unbutton yourself from the everyday, and travel toward adventure with curiosity and daring? Such is the story of the change leader – those of us drawn toward transformation in an uncharted world. We are the novel ones, leaders and organizations who dream of a new age, leading change for a world of change.

We are the pioneers, the edge-walkers, the leapers who push away from the familiar in pursuit of what is to come. We flirt with potential and our storylines are seldom tidy. Rather than following a path that has been laid out for us, we scent change on the wind and follow where it leads us – through meadow or briar, to unexplored, unfolding vistas.

In departing from the familiar, we step into the unknown and uncomfortable. We stretch toward possibilities we see glimmering on the horizon, trusting intuition and an internal sense of direction to propel us forward.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things.”
• Jack Kerouac

Brink leaders are led by purpose, driven to create meaningful change. Such change is not a singular vision, but adjusts to meet the complexity of the perspectives which influence it.

With no set map in hand, we understand that the key to transformation and innovation lies in powerful relationship. Along the way, we will encounter and befriend an array of deliciously complex characters, finding allies who follow a path that dips in and out of shadow. Our combined strengths and insights are needed on this journey. We are ready to amplify the power of relationship.

Do you recognize yourself in this description, and feel a pull to co-reflect with others who walk the edge?

We grow our own strength while rising to a larger challenge and kindling a spark in others.

Storybook heroes master sword or spell to achieve their aims. Modern-day brink leaders develop an internal capacity for fostering change. Training and mentoring equips us with tools and develops competency.  Coaching and supervision provide reflective space that can activate our own potential and that of others.

In my own journey as a change leader, I feel a deep longing to co-create reflective spaces which encourage us to go deep in our relationship with ourselves and others. These spaces serve as a portal, an entryway to possibility, as we hold the mirror to encourage the magic of inner transformation.

By looking into the crystal ball of pre-flective practice, the mirror of reflexive practice, and the rearview mirror of reflective practice, we guide our intentions. We embrace the polarities within and around us. With full awareness and conscious intention, we move toward what is calling.

It is a journey like no other, one that invites us to become fully ourselves.
